Katie was born and raised in Buffalo, NY. Following a life long interest in art, Katie studied photography and art history at State University of NY at Buffalo. As a student in the fine arts program, her body of artwork matured into pieces of self reflection, and personal expression of stages of growth in her life.
In 2009 Katie earned her Master's degree in Creative Arts Therapy from Nazareth College. In her professional career she has gained experience working with children, adolescent, and adults in settings such as a day rehabilitation school, outpatient substance abuse, outpatient mental health, and inpatient acute psychiatric hospitalization.
Katie's practice incorporates strengthening mindfulness awareness and emotional intelligence with art expression by exploring the mind-body connection as well as energy awareness and regulation.
